About

First a little about the author:

My name is Curtis Sanderson. I’m a 26 year old Canadian from Kelowna, British Columbia. Some of my interests include geocaching, hiking, camping, travelling, driving, the outdoors, sailing, politics, current affairs, watching TV and movies, the internet, and Canadian pride. I’m the proud owner of Canada4Life.Ca. Politically I identify myself as a socialist and I’m a member of the New Democratic Party of Canada and the BC New Democratic Party. You’ll probably find that most of my posts here support the NDP.

Truthfully, I don’t know what else I should include in this section, so if you have any questions contact me and I’ll add the information to this page.

And a little about the site:
This blog originated as CurtisSanderson.Ca, and can still be accessed via that address. I’ve been a fan of blogs for years now and one day decided to set one up as more of a personal site than my Canada4Life.Ca page. When I first built this site I coded my own blogging software because I wasn’t really impressed with the various free options I looked at. I’ve now switched over to WordPress because I think it’ll do the job much better. The content of the site has changed over the years too. Previously I did a lot of blogging about events in my personal life, but now I post more about politics and current events. I may still include personal stuff from time to time, but my posts will probably remain mostly political. The site has now relaunched with a new address and a new design.

And something about the name:
Although I enjoyed John Steinbeck’s novel Of Mice and Men, the title of this website is not a reference of that. It’s actually a reference to the political fable Mouseland, first told by Clarence Gillis and made famous by Tommy Douglas. I believe that even today the story of Mouseland accurately describes the political landscape in Canada and wanted the title of my website to reflect that.

Hear the story of Mouseland as told by Tommy Douglas.
