I think I better post something
Well, it’s been quite a while since I posted something. It seems my constant procrastination is effecting my blog too. There have been a lot of times over the last couple weeks when I’ve thought about blogging something, but I always put it off until later, and I never get around to it. I’ll have to work on that or there will be no point to this website. It’ll just be a waste of time and money.
For the first time ever I can actually say I enjoy my job. So far Wal-Mart has been great. The only problem I had was adjusting to a new sleeping pattern, but that’s behind me now. I’m so glad I’m out of Burger King too. Just like I expected, I don’t miss it at all. I hear the BK that I worked for just had a regular audit by the BK inspector and failed. They’ll be having another audit again soon, and if they fail that one the place will be shut down by BK head office. 
I feel sorry for all those people who will lose their jobs, but maybe it’ll be good for them to get the hell out of that place and find an employer that doesn’t treat their employees like shit. That’s one thing I love about Wal-Mart. They actually care out about their employees. I know it seemed like that when I first started at BK too, with the video we watched and everything, but after working at BK for a couple weeks it became obvious that it was nothing like the video and orientation said it would be like. And talking to other people who work at Wal-Mart I’ve heard nothing but good things about it. I’m sure there are some bad things, but I’m really happy there.
Well, I guess I should get to bed pretty soon. I have lots of things I have to do today, and I should get some sleep first I guess.

Don’t Panic
Don’t panic if some things seem broken on this site in the next few days, or even weeks. I’ve started replacing the blogging software I’ve been using with my own blog script. If something isn’t working properly I’m probably working on it, but if it goes unfixed for a long time please do tell me about it. As I type this the commenting system on the blog isn’t functioning yet so click the contact me link at the top of the page if you have any comments.

Free at last, free at last, thank God almighty, I’m free at last!!!
I got a voicemail the other day asking me to phone Wal-Mart. I phoned them back as soon as I listened to the message, and I got the job. I’m really excited about it. Turns out I’ll be making more money per hour at Wal-Mart’s starting wage than I’m currently making at Burger King. That’s really sad considering I’m a manager at BK. I also found out that two of the other managers at BK got raises. One of them does nothing but sit on his ass in the office, and goes home early when the boss isn’t in. All the more reason to quit I suppose. 
I go in for an orientation at 8:30 tomorrow morning, and I have to tell them then when I’ll be available to start work. Right now Burger King thinks they’re getting a full two weeks notice. I phoned my boss at home last night and let him know that I got hired and I’m quitting. He said he would expect 2 weeks notice. I said that was ok, but I think I’m probably going to surprise him tomorrow or the next day and tell him that I start at Wal-Mart on Wednesday. They said I could start as early as Wednesday, and if I had to give notice then they could wait. Everyone else they hired at the same time as me will be starting on Wednesday, so I think it would be best if I was there too. That’s really going to piss off Burger King, and screw them over, but I don’t care. I don’t work there anymore. 
I’m so excited right now.

New job?
Well, I might have a new job soon. Wal-Mart is hiring some people for night crew. Stocking shelves and stuff, and apparently they’re also hiring unloaders to take stuff off the trucks and put it where it goes in the store room. I went and applied yesterday. There were lots of people there because it was one of their job fairs. I filled out the application form and then waited around for a very long time. A lot of people were called in for interviews and came out right away. Others were in the back for quite a while. When my name was finally called I was interviewed by one woman named Michelle. Then I met with another woman, who’s name I can’t remember, who asked me some more questions. Then I had to fill out a survey/questionaire with a lot statements that I had to say if I agreed or disagreed with on a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being strongly agree and 10 being strongly disagree. After that another interview was scheduled for today. I spent a total of three hours at Wal-Mart yesterday. So at nine this morning I met with Jeff. I found out later that my mom had talked to Jeff and put in a good word for me. She works at Wal-Mart already. After my interview with Jeff I was pretty excited, because I think I have a good chance of being hired. They’ll be calling me sometime within a week to let me know I guess. They already called Burger King because I put them down on my application as current employer. My boss called me into the office at work today asking about it. He had no idea that I was looking for another job until he got the phone call yesterday. He seemed alright with it, but he just wanted to find out if I’m going to give him notice when I quit. I told him yes. We’ll see what happens. 
Jeff from Wal-Mart said thay had no problem with me not being able to work right away if I’m giving BK notice. The second woman who interviewed me yesterday also called at least one of my references today, but got voicemail and left a message. So I’m hopeful that I’ll be hired. I’m anxious to find out one way or the other.
Also, my brother moved out today. My parents evicted him in November, but let him stay 2 more months because he hadn’t found a new place to live. 
Well, he’s gone now and I have the whole basement to myself. Once I get the mess he left behind cleaned up it should be pretty cool.
