Snowcraft

November 27, 2004 · Filed Under Personal · Comment

I almost forgot, I downloaded Snowcraft tonight. It’s a little Shockwave game where you control a team of kids throwing snowballs at another team of kids. Something Cherie said or did the other day made me think of it, so I Googled for it and found a .exe file version.

If you’re interested go to Google and search for “Snowcraft”. There are lots of pages where you can play it. If anyone has any trouble finding the .exe file let me know, and I’ll get you a copy.

Ok. I’m off to bed now. I’m going to be a zombie at work tomorrow. 8-O

Long weekend, but not really

November 27, 2004 · Filed Under Personal · Comment

It feels like I’m coming off of a long weekend, but really It’s only been two days. That’s the joy of working latenight sometimes I guess. I worked latenight 7:30-4:00 on Wednesday and so did Cherie so we spent the whole day together, and then all night at work. Then I had Thursday and Friday off. I got to spend most of Friday with Cherie too. :-D We watched a few movies this weekend. First we watched Elf. I misheard Cherie before and thought she said we were going to be watching Alf. You know that funny looking alien guy from the 80′s. I was a little dissappointed, but Elf was pretty good too. :-) We also watched Mickey Mouse Christmas, Demolition Man, and some other movie about forest fire fighters and a jail break. I don’t remember the name, but it was good.

I also played Swat3 with Roger a couple times. We play online. Roger’s at college in Calgary. We both downloaded a lot of new missions, so that should make the game more interesting next time we play.

I also started working on my resume tonight. I’ll finish it later. It’s 3am and I have to be at work at noon. Got to get some sleep.

Procrastinating again

November 22, 2004 · Filed Under Personal · Comment

In my last post I called myself lazy. I’m not so sure if it’s just lazyness or if it’s more procrastination on steroids. Maybe I’m just too easily distacted. I had big plans to work on my resume tonight, but then I got talking to my friend Roger on MSN and we ended up playing swat with my other friend Chris. Anyone who’s wondering what swat is should visit www.swat3.com.

I ended up browsing blogs on blogspot.com. I didn’t really find anything interesting, but I did start thinking about some changes I could make to my site, and I think I might end up coding my own blogging software. God knows when I’ll find the time for that.

So I didn’t have a very exciting night. I just got a text message from Cherie, my girlfriend who I’ve been told I’m not allowed to talk about on my website. ;-) I don’t think she’s seen the site yet. So I phoned her, got her voicemail, and decided to post something while I’m waiting for a call back.

It’s 1:30AM. I think I’ll call it a night.

Pissed Off

I’ve been pretty pissed off about work lately. For those of you who don’t know, I’m a shift-co at Burger King. What that basically means is I get paid a dollar more than regular crew and do a ton more work. I’ve hated this job for a long time now, and I’m just now getting my ass in gear and looking for something better.

Last Friday was payday and I was supposed to be getting paid some overtime because they were short staffed one night and called me in. Well, the franchise I work for is owned by a couple of cheap bastards, and they don’t like paying overtime. Or following employment standards laws for that matter. Needless to say, I didn’t get paid for my overtime. It’s only 3 hours, but I was assured that I was getting paid for it and I certianly wouldn’t have been there until 4 in the morning if I had known I was going to get shafted. Plus I work at Burger King, god knows I could use the extra money!

And so I have a plan. I’m starting to work on my resume and looking for another job. I’ve been keeping track of time I’ve worked down to the minute, and the day after I quit at BK I plan on filing a complaint with the labour board. I’ve worked with quite a few people who’ve said the same thing, but they never really filed a complaint. The difference is these people have pissed me off so much that I will make sure thay pay.

Maybe I’m just obsessed, but I don’t care. I think anyone who treats their employees they way my current employers treat theirs should be shut down.

One Cow

November 19, 2004 · Filed Under Current Events · Comment

Once again people around the world are in a panic because of a single cow that may be infected with BSE. What’s the big deal? Even when there was a confirmed case of BSE over a year ago I thought the reaction by the public, and the American government was rediculous. Why should one cow throw everyone into a panic about beef? Especially since this time it’s only a suspected case. They aren’t even sure yet, and stock prices are already dropping.

I don’t see any point in announcing every suspected case of BSE. Until the cow is confirmed to be infected there’s absolutely no reason to make an announcement. But the American government likes to keep their citizens in a state of fear don’t they?

Welcome To CurtisSanderson.Ca

Hey there. Welcome to my personal website. If you’re here you probably already know me. I doubt too many strangers will be interested in my little personal site. ;-) I have another website at Canada4Life.Ca, but I decided to create a more personal site that would be more about me. I decided to build a blog. If you don’t know what a blog is you’re missing out on a huge part of the internet. Blogs are basically online journals. The word blog is short for “web log”. I stumbled upon someone’s blog one day and found out about the whole blogging thing. I thought it sounded cool and decided I wanted one. So here it is finally. Don’t expect this page to be updated everyday, but I’ll update as often as I can.

A little more about me: If you want to read more about me click the about me link at the top of the page. There’s a little information there, and if you think I should add something to page send me a message from my contact page.

A little more about this site: I registered the domain CurtisSanderson.Ca way back on 27/03/2003, but didn’t do anything with it until recently. There was a “Coming Soon” page in this spot for over a year. When I finally got to work on my site I wanted to build my own blogging software, but I eventually decided I wanted the site running sooner that it would take me to code the whole thing so I downloaded a pre-made program and customised it. Click the links at the top of the page to see what else is here.
